0012|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE SERVICES FOR HOMELESS OR

0013|     MENTALLY ILL VIETNAM VETERANS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred twenty thousand six
    |
0017|     hundred fifty dollars ($220,650) is appropriated from the
    |
0018|     general fund to the New Mexico veterans' service commission for
    |
0019|     expenditure in fiscal years 1996 and 1997 for the purpose of
    |
0020|     providing or contracting for referral, job placement, housing or
    |
0021|     supportive social services for homeless or mentally ill Vietnam
    |
0022|     veterans.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at
    |
0023|     the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the general fund.
    |
0024|       Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0025|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
