0012|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF CERTAIN EXPENSES

0013|     INCURRED BY THE CITY OF RIO RANCHO IN DEALING WITH THE NEW

0014|     MEXICO PUBLIC UTILITY COMMISSION.

0016|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0017|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred fifty-one
    |
0018|     thousand one hundred fifty-three dollars ($351,153) is
    |
0019|     appropriated from the general fund to the local government
    |
0020|     division of the department of finance and administration for
    |
0021|     expenditure in fiscal year 1997 for the purpose of reimbursing 
    |
0022|     the city of Rio Rancho for litigation and other expenses
    |
0023|     incurred as a result of legal and regulatory issues raised by
    |
0024|     the New Mexico public utility commission in connection with
    |
0025|     acquisition of a water utility.  Any unexpended or unencumbered
    |
0001|     balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to
    |
0002|     the general fund.
