0012|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS STATEWIDE.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0015|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars
    |
0016|     ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state
    |
0017|     department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year
    |
0018|     1997 for the purpose of providing after-school supervision until
    |
0019|     5:00 p.m. for all grade schools and middle schools throughout
    |
0020|     the state.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at
    |
0021|     the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the general fund.
