APPROPRIATIONS--CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES | 0018| DEPARTMENT.-- | 0019| A. The following amounts are appropriated from the | 0020| general fund to the children, youth and families department for | 0021| expenditure in fiscal year 1997 for the following purposes: | 0022| (1) five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) | 0023| for mental health in the schools programs; | 0024| (2) one million dollars ($1,000,000) for | 0025| independent living programs for youth sixteen to twenty-one | 0001| years of age; | 0002| (3) one million dollars ($1,000,000) for | 0003| substance abuse prevention programs. | 0004| B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining | 0005| at the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the general fund. | 0006| Section 2. APPROPRIATION--DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH.--One | 0007| million dollars ($1,000,000) is appropriated from the general | 0008| fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year | 0009| 1997 for the purpose of providing or contracting for substance | 0010| abuse treatment programs and services.
