0021|     AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE PURCHASE OF SCHOOL BUSES FOR THE MESA

0022|     VISTA HEAD START PROGRAM OPERATING IN TAOS AND RIO ARRIBA

0023|     COUNTIES; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0025|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0001|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand
    |
0002|     dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0003|     state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal
    |
0004|     years 1996 and 1997 for the purpose of purchasing school buses
    |
0005|     for the Mesa Vista head start program operating in Taos and Rio
    |
0006|     Arriba counties.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
    |
0007|     remaining at the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the
    |
0008|     general fund.
    |
0009|       Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0010|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
