0006| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0007|      Section 1.  Section 66-7-406 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1978, Chapter
    |
0008| 35, Section 477, as amended) is amended to read:
    |
0009|      "66-7-406.  SPECIAL LOAD LIMITS.--
    |
0010|           A.  Subject to the provisions of Sections 66-7-401 through
    |
0011| 66-7-416 NMSA 1978 limiting the length of vehicles and loads, the load
    |
0012| upon any vehicle operated alone or the load upon the front vehicle of
    |
0013| a combination of vehicles shall not extend more than three feet beyond
    |
0014| the foremost part of the vehicle, and the load upon any vehicle oper-
    |
0015|

0016| ated alone or the load upon the rear vehicle of a combination of ve-
    |
0017| 
    |
0018| hicles shall not extend more than seven feet beyond the rear of the
    |
0019| bed or body of the vehicle.  For the purposes of this section, the
    |
0020| foremost part of a front-end loading solid waste collection vehicle
    |
0021| shall include the front-end loading equipment attached to the vehicle.
    |
0022|           B.  If a vehicle combination consists of a tractor,
    |
0023| semitrailer and a trailer, the rear overhang is limited to a
    |
0024| maximum of two feet on the trailer and semitrailer and no front
    |
0025| overhang."
