0001| AN ACT | 0002| RELATING TO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES; CREATING JOB OPPORTUNITIES; | 0003| ALLOWING MINORS NINETEEN YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER TO SERVE ALCOHOLIC | 0004| BEVERAGES IN RESTAURANTS AND CLUBS. | 0005| | 0006| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO: | 0007| Section 1. PURPOSE OF ACT.-- The purpose of this act is to create job opportunities | 0008| for the citizens of New Mexico. | 0009| Section 2. Section 60-7B-11 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1981, Chapter 39, Section 91, as | 0010| amended) is amended to read: | 0011| "60-7B-11. EMPLOYMENT OF MINORS.-- | 0012| A. Except as provided in Subsection B of this section, it is a violation of the | 0013| Liquor Control Act for any person licensed pursuant to the provisions of the Liquor Control Act | 0014| or for any employee, agent or lessee of that person knowingly to employ or use the service of any | 0015| minor in the sale and service of alcoholic beverages. | 0016| B. A person holding a dispenser's, restaurant or club license may employ | 0017| persons nineteen years of age or older to serve alcoholic beverages that will be consumed | 0018| with meals on the premises." |
