0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

0012|     INITIATIVES AND FOR ASSISTANCE TO SMALL BUSINESSES, MINORITY-

0013|     OWNED BUSINESSES AND WOMEN-OWNED BUSINESSES IN NORTHERN NEW

0014|     MEXICO; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0016|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0017|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand
    |
0018|     dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0019|     economic development department for expenditure in fiscal years
    |
0020|     1997 and 1998 for the purpose of contracting for services to
    |
0021|     provide for economic development initiatives and for assistance
    |
0022|     to small businesses, minority-owned businesses and women-owned
    |
0023|     businesses in northern New Mexico.  Any unexpended or
    |
0024|     unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998
    |
0025|     shall revert to the general fund.
    |
0001|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0002|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
