0011|     RELATING TO WATER; MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE INTERSTATE

0012|     STREAM COMMISSION FOR REGIONAL WATER PLANNING AND A STATEWIDE

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--One million dollars
    |
0017|     ($1,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0018|     interstate stream commission for expenditure in fiscal year
    |
0019|     1998 for the purpose of regional water planning, including the
    |
0020|     preparation of a comprehensive statewide water resources
    |
0021|     assessment in cooperation with appropriate state agencies and
    |
0022|     political subdivisions.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
    |
0023|     remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the
    |
0024|     general fund.
