0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE ACQUISITION OF A TANKER FIRE

0012|     TRUCK FOR THE BERRENDO VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT IN CHAVES

0013|     COUNTY; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred five thousand
    |
0017|     dollars ($205,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0018|     local government division of the department of finance and
    |
0019|     administration for expenditure in fiscal years 1997 and 1998
    |
0020|     for the purpose of purchasing and equipping a fire apparatus
    |
0021|     tanker truck for the Berrendo volunteer fire department in
    |
0022|     Chaves county.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
    |
0023|     remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the
    |
0024|     general fund.
    |
0025|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0001|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
