  Mr. Speaker:
  
       Your JUDICIARY COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
  
                        HOUSE BILL 604
  
  has had it under consideration and reports same with
  recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
  
       1.  On page 1, lines 12 through 14, strike "CONTRACT WITH A
  NONPROFIT CORPORATION FOR THE OPERATION OF COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAMS
  THAT PROVIDE SERVICES TO CERTAIN CRIMINAL OFFENDERS" and insert in
  lieu thereof "MAKE A GRANT TO A NONPROFIT CORPORATION FOR THE
  OPERATION OF A COMMUNITY-BASED PROGRAM THAT WILL INITIALLY PROVIDE
  REINTEGRATION SERVICES TO CERTAIN CRIMINAL OFFENDERS IN LOS ALAMOS".
  
       2.  On page 1, lines 20 through 22, strike "contract with a
  nonprofit corporation for the operation of community-based programs
  that provide services to criminal offenders" and insert in lieu
  thereof: "make a grant to a nonprofit corporation for the operation
  of a community-based program that will initially provide
  reintegration services to criminal offenders in Los Alamos".  
  
       3.  On page 1, line 24, strike "programs" and insert in lieu
  thereof "program".
  
  and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE
  COMMITTEE.
