0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR SUPPORT OF VARIOUS PROGRAMS IN

0012|     CURRY COUNTY; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION--AGENCIES--PURPOSES.--
    |
0016|               A.  Six hundred eighteen thousand eight hundred 
    |
0017|     dollars ($618,800) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0018|     following departments for expenditure in fiscal years 1997 and
    |
0019|     1998 in the following amounts for the following purposes:
    |
0020|                    (1)  one hundred seventy thousand dollars
    |
0021|     ($170,000) to the local government division of the department
    |
0022|     of finance and administration for support of the Curry county
    |
0023|     driving while intoxicated program, including the teen court and
    |
0024|     teens need teens programs, prevention education in the schools,
    |
0025|     screening and assessment of offenders and both a program
    |
0001|     probation officer and a program coordinator;
    |
0002|                    (2)  fifty-six thousand two hundred dollars
    |
0003|     ($56,200) to the local government division of the department of
    |
0004|     finance and administration for support of a Curry county
    |
0005|     special driving while intoxicated program, including
    |
0006|     enforcement, offender database, purchase of breathalyzers and
    |
0007|     support of the treatment committee;
    |
0008|                    (3)  thirty-nine thousand eight hundred dollars
    |
0009|     ($39,800) to the department of health for support of the Curry
    |
0010|     county maternal and child health council;
    |
0011|                    (4)  two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) to
    |
0012|     the state housing authority of the economic development
    |
0013|     department for home rehabilitation for low-income persons;
    |
0014|                    (5)  ten thousand dollars ($10,000) to the
    |
0015|     state agency on aging for installation of ramps for handicapped
    |
0016|     and elderly low-income persons;
    |
0017|                    (6)  thirty-two thousand six hundred dollars
    |
0018|     ($32,600) to the state agency on aging for support of the
    |
0019|     retired senior volunteer program;
    |
0020|                    (7)  seventy thousand nine hundred dollars
    |
0021|     ($70,900) to the state agency on aging for support of the
    |
0022|     foster grandparent program;
    |
0023|                    (8)  twelve thousand one hundred dollars
    |
0024|     ($12,100) to the state highway and transportation department to
    |
0025|     support the youth employment and highway beautification
    |
0001|     projects; and
    |
0002|                    (9)  twenty-seven thousand two hundred dollars
    |
0003|     ($27,200) to support the drug abuse resistance education
    |
0004|     program.
    |
0005|               B.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining
    |
0006|     at the end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the general
    |
0007|     fund.
    |
0008|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0009|     peace, heath and safety that this act take effect immediately.
