0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A MEDIA LITERACY FORUM IN SANTA FE

0012|     APRIL 10 THROUGH 13, 1997; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Eighty-six thousand four
    |
0016|     hundred forty dollars ($86,440) is appropriated from the
    |
0017|     general fund to the state department of public education for
    |
0018|     expenditure in fiscal year 1997 for the purpose of sponsoring a
    |
0019|     media literacy forum in Santa Fe April 10 through 13, 1997. 
    |
0020|     Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
    |
0021|     fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the general fund.
    |
0022|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0023|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
