  Mr. Speaker:
  
       Your AGRICULTURE AND WATER RESOURCES COMMITTEE,
  to whom has been referred
  
                       HOUSE BILL 1232
  
  has had it under consideration and reports same with
  recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
  
       1.  On page 5, line 7, strike the quotation mark.
  
       2.  On page 5, between lines 7 and 8, insert the following new
  subsection:
  
            "D.  If the cotton boll weevil control district includes
  certified organic acreage, the cotton boll weevil control committee
  shall select an organic farmer operating within the district, who
  shall have all the powers of a committee member, to serve on the
  cotton boll weevil control committee.".
  
       3.  On page 6, line 8, after "producer" insert ", with this
  payment not to exceed the amount of the assessment paid by the
  organic cotton producer".
  
       4.  On page 6, line 8, after the period insert a quotation
  mark, strike the remainder of the line and strike lines 9 through 15
  in their entirety.,                               
                        
  and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE
  COMMITTEE.
