0011| MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE AGENCY ON AGING TO PROVIDE

0012| SERVICES FOR SENIOR CITIZENS THROUGHOUT THE STATE.

0014| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0015| Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--
|
0016| A. Two million dollars ($2,000,000) is appropriated
|
0017| from the general fund to the state agency on aging for
|
0018| expenditure in fiscal year 1998 for the following purposes:
|
0019| (1) senior center and community services,
|
0020| including meals, adult daycare, respite care and transportation
|
0021| provided through area agencies on aging;
|
0022| (2) volunteer programs, including foster
|
0023| grandparent, senior companion and retired and senior
|
0024| volunteers;
|
0025| (3) Alzheimer's disease information, education
|
0001| and respite services; and
|
0002| (4) direct services provided by the state
|
0003| agency on aging, including long-term care ombudsman and elder
|
0004| rights advocacy.
|
0005| B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining
|
0006| at the end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the general
|
0007| fund.
