Strike Senate Floor Amendments 1 and 2. 2. On pages 2 and 3, strike all of Subsection G and insert in lieu thereof the following: "G. In meeting the requirements made in Subsections D through F of this section, all teachers in fourth through eighth grades shall emphasize the importance of reading and writing by appropriately designating reading and reporting assignments commensurate with the students' abilities and integrating these expectations through thoughtful curricula.". 3. On page 3, line 21, strike the comma, and on lines 21 through 23, strike the underscored material. 4. On page 4, between lines 20 and 21, insert the following new subsection to read: "C. In meeting the requirements of Subsection B of this section, all teachers in fourth through eighth grades shall emphasize the importance of reading and writing by appropriately designating reading and reporting assignments commensurate with the students' abilities and integrating these expectations through thoughtful curricula.". 5.
