0011| MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR SUPPORT OF SERVICES FOR LOW-INCOME

0012| NEW MEXICANS THROUGH THE PUBLIC ASSISTANCE ACT; DECLARING AN

0013| EMERGENCY.

0015| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0016| Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million dollars
|
0017| ($2,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the human
|
0018| services department for expenditure in fiscal years 1997 and
|
0019| 1998 for the purpose of funding services, including child care,
|
0020| transportation and other job-related services for low-income
|
0021| New Mexicans through the general assistance program of the
|
0022| Public Assistance Act. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
|
0023| remaining at the end of fiscal year 1998 shall revert to the
|
0024| general fund.

0025| Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
|
0001| peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
