  Mr. Speaker:
  
       Your GOVERNMENT AND URBAN AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to
  whom has been referred
  
                 SENATE BILL 1149, as amended
                               
  has had it under consideration and reports same with
  recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
  
       1.   On page 1, lines 11 through 14, strike "REQUIRING THE
  CONSENT OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS IN CASE OF ANNEXATION
  BY A MUNICIPALITY OF COUNTY TERRITORY IN A CLASS A COUNTY WITH A
  POPULATION OF TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND OR MORE PERSONS".
  
       2.   On page 1, lines 20 through 24, strike the underscored
  language in its entirety.
  
       3.   On page 1, line 24, strike "whenever" and insert in lieu
  thereof "Whenever".
  
       4.   On page 2, line 1, remove the brackets and line through
  "in a Class A county".
  
       5.   On page 2, line 11, remove the brackets and line through
  "and".
  
       6.   On page 2, line 13, strike "; and" and insert in lieu
  thereof a comma.
  
       7.   On page 2, lines 14 and 15, remove the brackets and line
  through "the governing body shall by ordinance express its consent
  or rejection to the annexation of such territory" and at the end of
  line 15 insert a period.
  
       8.   On page 2, strike lines 16 through 18 in their entirety.
  
       9.   Reletter the succeeding subsections accordingly.
