0011|     RECOGNIZING THE NATIONAL RETIRED TEACHERS ASSOCIATION AND THE

0012|     NEW MEXICO ASSOCIATION OF EDUCATIONAL RETIREES.

0014|          WHEREAS, the celebration takes place on the fiftieth
    |
0015|     anniversary of the national retired teachers association; and
    |
0016|          WHEREAS, national retired educators day will be October
    |
0017|     13, 1997; and
    |
0018|          WHEREAS, this day will provide high visibility and
    |
0019|     recognition for the valued community service activities of
    |
0020|     retired educators; and
    |
0021|          WHEREAS, the New Mexico association of educational
    |
0022|     retirees, with thirty-three local units across the state, is
    |
0023|     affiliated with the national retired teachers association; and
    |
0024|          WHEREAS, the New Mexico association of educational
    |
0025|     retirees represents all retired educators in New Mexico; 
    |
0001|          NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE
    |
0002|     STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the governor be requested to proclaim
    |
0003|     October 13, 1997 as retired educators day in New Mexico in
    |
0004|     recognition of their dedication and service to New Mexico; and
    |
0005|          BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be
    |
0006|     transmitted to the national retired teachers association and
    |
0007|     the New Mexico association of educational retirees.
