0011| MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO FUND INITIAL EXPENSES OF THE GAMING

0012| CONTROL BOARD AND A SYSTEM OF CONTINUOUS COMPUTER MONITORING

0013| OF LICENSED GAMING MACHINES; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0015| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0016| Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--
|
0017| A. Four million four hundred thousand dollars
|
0018| ($4,400,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
|
0019| gaming control board for expenditure in fiscal year 1999 in
|
0020| the following amounts and for the following purposes:
|
0021| (1) one million four hundred thousand dollars
|
0022| ($1,400,000) for operational expenses of the gaming control
|
0023| board; and
|
0024| (2) three million dollars ($3,000,000) for
|
0025| capital expenditures required to develop and implement a
|

0001| system of continuous computer monitoring of licenced gaming
|
0002| machines mandated by the Gaming Control Act.
|
0003| B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance
|
0004| remaining at the end of fiscal year 1999 shall revert to the
|
0005| general fund.

0006| Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
|
0007| peace, health and safety that this act take effect
|
0008| immediately.
