       Your TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been
  referred
  
                        HOUSE BILL 265
  
  has had it under consideration and reports same with
  recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
  
       1.  On page 11, line 3, after "effect", insert "or a surety
  bond or evidence of a sufficient cash deposit with the state
  treasurer".
  
       2.  On page 26, line 21, insert the following new section:
  
       "Section 21.  EFFECTIVE DATE.--The effective date of the
  provisions of this act is July 1, 1998.".,
  
  and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
