0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF NEW MEXICO

0012|     STATE UNIVERSITY TO IMPROVE CAMPUS SECURITY.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--One hundred nine thousand
    |
0016|     dollars ($109,000) is appropriated from the general fund to
    |
0017|     the board of regents of New Mexico state university for
    |
0018|     expenditure in fiscal year 1999 for the purpose of improving
    |
0019|     campus security.  The appropriation shall be used to hire and
    |
0020|     train university police officers and to purchase necessary
    |
0021|     equipment and supplies for those officers.  Any unexpended or
    |
0022|     unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1999
    |
0023|     shall revert to the general fund.
