0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE PREVENTION OF BIRTH DEFECTS.

0013|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

0014|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand
    |
0015|     dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to
    |
0016|     the public health division of the department of health for
    |
0017|     expenditure in fiscal year 1999 for the purpose of
    |
0018|     establishing a program to identify and monitor, and, where
    |
0019|     possible, to prevent birth defects.  Any unexpended or
    |
0020|     unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1999
    |
0021|     shall revert to the general fund.
