HOUSE CAPITAL OUTLAY REQUEST 12 
                                
                      STATE OF NEW MEXICO
            43RD LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION, 1998
                           REQUESTED BY
                        WILLIAM E. PORTER              
FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS IN HOUSE DISTRICT 36 IN DONA ANA COUNTY.
     I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:
                    to the board of regents of New Mexico state university:
          
          A.  two million five hundred thousand dollars ($2,500,000) to renovate and
improve Goddard Hall on the main campus of New Mexico state university in Dona Ana county;
and
          B.  three hundred fifty thousand dollars ($350,000) to construct the center for
energy technologies at New Mexico state university in Dona Ana county;

                    to the state highway and transportation department:
     
                    two hundred sixty-five thousand dollars ($265,000) to relocate the access road to
          Desert edge road in Dona Ana county;
                    to the local government division of the department of finance and administration:
     
          A.  sixty-five thousand dollars ($65,000) to purchase and install lights and related
fixtures for the north Dona Ana county ballpark;
          B.  twelve thousand four hundred dollars ($12,400) to design, construct,
purchase or install improvements to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities
Act of 1990 at the north Dona Ana county ballpark;
          C.  eight thousand seven hundred dollars ($8,700) to design and construct
improvements to the Hatch public library in Dona Ana county to meet requirements of the
Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990; 
          D.  one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to plan and design the northern
county judicial complex in Hatch in Dona Ana county; and
          E.  six hundred fifty thousand dollars ($650,000) to remodel the Branigan center
in Dona Ana county;

                    to the state department of public education: 
                    nineteen thousand eight hundred twenty dollars ($19,820) for library technology
          and automation at Alameda library in Las Cruces in Dona Ana county; and
                    to the department of environment:
                    one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for a new water well in Hatch in Dona
          Ana county.
