            43RD LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION, 1998

FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS IN SAN MIGUEL COUNTY.

     I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

                    to the local government division of the department of finance and administration:

          A.  seven hundred ninety-three thousand six hundred eighty-six dollars
($793,686) to plan, design, construct, equip and furnish a county health facility in San Miguel
county;

          B.  seven hundred thousand dollars ($700,000) to renovate and construct
improvements to the San Miguel county courthouse;

          C.  one hundred thirty-one thousand dollars ($131,000) to purchase new vehicles
for the sheriff's department in San Miguel county;

          D.  one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to construct, equip and furnish
a building for the Pecos canyon volunteer fire department in San Miguel county;

                    to the state highway and transportation department:
     
          A.  three hundred eighty-five thousand eighty-two ($385,082) to improve county
road A20, county road B43-B, and to replace culverts on various roads throughout San Miguel
county; and

                    to the state department of public education:
     
                    ninety-seven thousand one hundred thirty-five dollars ($97,135) to restore and
          construct improvements to the Villanueva elementary school to provide needed
          recreational and human service programs in San Miguel county.
