                      STATE OF NEW MEXICO
            43RD LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION, 1998

                           REQUESTED BY

FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS AT THE LITTLEWATER CHAPTER IN MCKINLEY
COUNTY.

     I request that the following capital outlay projects be
funded:

                    to the local government division of the department of
          finance and administration:
          
          A.  two hundred seventy-five thousand dollars
($275,000) to plan, design and construct a multipurpose facility
in Thoreau in McKinley county;

          B.  one hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000)
for improvements to the Crownpoint park and rodeo area in
McKinley county; and

                    to the state highway and transportation department:
     
          A.  three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) to plan,
design, construct or install pavement on an unimproved section of
county road 61 from the intersection with Highway 40 east toward
Marian lake;

          B.  two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) for
archaeological and environmental data recovery, right-of-way
acquisition and construction or installation of pavement on
county road 19 from N-48 to state highway 509; and

          C.  twenty-seven thousand five hundred dollars
($27,500) for street improvements for streets in Thoreau townsite
II in McKinley county; and



     
                    to the state agency on aging:

                    seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) to plan, design
          and construct a new senior center for the Littlewater
          Chapter in McKinley county.
