            43RD LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION, 1998

FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS IN DONA ANA COUNTY.

     I request that the following capital outlay projects be
funded:

                    to the department of environment:
               
          A.  two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) for
improvements to the La Mesa water system in Dona Ana county;

          B.  five hundred fourteen thousand dollars ($514,000)
for improvements to the San Miguel water system in Dona Ana
county;

          C.  two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) to
construct an extension of a water line to serve residents of
Watson lane in Dona Ana county; and

          D.  three hundred fifty thousand dollars ($350,000) for
wastewater systems in La Mesa and San Miguel in Dona Ana county;
and

                    to the state highway and transportation department:

          A.  two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) for street
widening and improvements between NM 478 and NM 28, also known as
Carver road, in Dona Ana county; and

          B.  one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to pave
streets in Tortugas in Dona Ana county.
