FOR LIBRARY ACQUISITIONS FOR PUBLIC LIBRARIES, PUBLIC SCHOOL LIBRARIES AND
ACADEMIC LIBRARIES.

     I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

                    to the state department of public education:
     
                    two million five hundred thousand dollars ($2,500,000) for acquisition of library
          books, equipment and library resources to be distributed to public school libraries
          statewide;

                    to the office of cultural affairs:

                    two million five hundred thousand dollars ($2,500,000) for acquisition of library
          books, equipment and library resources to be distributed to public libraries and
          pueblo and tribal libraries statewide;

                    to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico:
          
                              for academic library acquisitions, the following amounts to the following
               branches of the university of New Mexico:

          A.  one million six hundred forty-seven thousand dollars ($1,647,000);

          B.  seventy-three thousand dollars ($73,000) for expenditure at the Gallup
branch;

          C.  thirty-seven thousand two hundred dollars ($37,200) for expenditure at the
Los Alamos branch;

          D.  seventy-three thousand dollars ($73,000) for expenditure at the Valencia
branch;



          E.  thirty-seven thousand two hundred dollars ($37,200) for expenditure at the
Taos branch;

                    to the board of regents of New Mexico state university:
     
                              for academic library acquisitions, the following amounts to the following
               branches of New Mexico state university:
          
          A.  one million one hundred forty-nine thousand dollars ($1,149,000);

          B.  seventy-three thousand dollars ($73,000) for expenditure at the Alamogordo
branch;

          C.  seventy-three thousand dollars ($73,000() for expenditure at the Carlsbad
branch;

          D.  one hundred forty-six thousand dollars ($146,000) for expenditure at the
Dona Ana branch;

          E.  thirty-seven thousand two hundred dollars ($37,200) for expenditure at the
Grants branch;

                    to the board of regents of New Mexico highlands university:

                    one hundred eighty-eight thousand five hundred dollars ($188,500) for academic
          library acquisitions;

                    to the board of regents of western New Mexico university:

          library acquisitions;

                    to the board of regents of eastern New Mexico university:

                              for academic library acquisitions, the following amounts to the following
               branches of eastern New Mexico university:

          A.  two hundred fifty-three thousand five hundred dollars ($253,500);

          B.  seventy-three thousand dollars ($73,000) for expenditure at the Roswell
campus;




          C.  thirty-seven thousand two hundred dollars ($37,200) for expenditure at the
Ruidoso campus;

                    to the board of regents of New Mexico institute of mining and technology:
     
                    one hundred fifteen thousand five hundred dollars ($115,500) for academic
          library acquisitions;

                    to the community college board of the Clovis community college:
     
          seventy-three thousand dollars ($73,000) for academic library acquisitions;

                    to the board of regents of the northern New Mexico state school:
     
          seventy-three thousand dollars ($73,000) for academic library acquisitions;

                    to the community college board of the Santa Fe community college:
     
          seventy-three thousand dollars ($73,000) for academic library acquisitions;

                    to the governing board of the Albuquerque technical-vocational institute:
     
                    two hundred nineteen thousand dollars ($219,000) for academic library
          acquisitions;

                    to the governing board of the Luna vocational-technical institute:
     
          seventy-three thousand dollars ($73,000) for academic library acquisitions;

                    to the governing board of the Mesa Technical college:
     
                    thirty-seven thousand two hundred dollars ($37,200) for academic library
          acquisitions;
