SENATE CAPITAL OUTLAY REQUEST 148 
                                
                      STATE OF NEW MEXICO
            43RD LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION, 1998

                           REQUESTED BY

FOR SIERRA COUNTY PROJECTS.

     I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

                    to the local government division of the department of finance and administration:
          
          A.  three hundred two thousand four hundred dollars ($302,400) to construct,
equip and furnish phase one of the Sierra county courthouse renovation; and

          B.  fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) to plan and design a judicial and detention
complex in Sierra county; and

                    to the state highway and transportation department:

          A.  one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) for engineering and planning
required corrective design, maintenance and construction of state highway 142 southwest of
Monticello in Sierra county; and

          B.  one million five hundred twelve thousand dollars ($1,512,000) to complete
improvements to the Elephant Butte Lake state park access road from interstate 25, exit 89 to
the north end of the park in Sierra county.
