            43RD LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION, 1998

                           REQUESTED BY

FOR SCHOOL IMPROVEMENTS AT EASTERN NEW MEXICO UNIVERSITY IN PORTALES IN
ROOSEVELT COUNTY.

     I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

                    to the board of regents of eastern New Mexico university:
          
          A.  forty thousand dollars ($40,000) to equip a video technology classroom;

          B.  twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) to purchase and install an electrical
switchgear system for KENM-TV;

          C.  ninety-five thousand dollars ($95,000) to improve the campus union parking

area and walkways;

          D.  thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) to improve the student event mall;

          E.  seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) to reroof Quay hall;

          F.  fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) to improve the greyhound arena parking
area;

          G.  forty thousand dollars ($40,000) for practice field improvements;

          H.  eighty thousand dollars ($80,000) to construct, equip and furnish an addition
to the football and baseball players' locker room;

          I.  fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for storage units for the baseball and football
programs; and

          J.  one hundred forty thousand dollars ($140,000) for an office, conference and
classroom complex for athletic programs.
