            43RD LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION, 1998

                           REQUESTED BY

FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS IN THE BARELAS NEIGHBORHOOD IN
ALBUQUERQUE IN BERNALILLO COUNTY.

     I request that the following capital outlay projects be
funded:

                    to the local government division of the department of
          finance and administration:

          A.  two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) for a
living wall along First street SW and the Burlington Northern and
Santa Fe railroad yards between Central and Cesar Chavez and
<center>- 1 -</center>

Bridge boulevards SW in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county;

          B.  fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for a landscaped
glorieta or a roundabout at Tenth street and Park SW in
Albuquerque in Bernalillo county;

          C.  two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) for a
landscaping and beautification project on Coal avenue SW,
starting at the new social security building and including the
Alvarado apartments and the Transmodal center in Albuquerque in
Bernalillo county; and

          D.  six hundred thousand dollars ($600,000) for
acquisition of land and demolition and rehabilitation of
properties on Fourth street SW from Lead avenue to Cesar Chavez
and Bridge boulevards SW in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county.
