0011|     SUGGESTING THE STATE RECORDS CENTER AND ARCHIVES AND THE STATE

0012|     COMMISSION OF PUBLIC RECORDS CONDUCT A STUDY TO DETERMINE THE

0013|     FEASIBILITY OF CREATING A UNIFORM COMPREHENSIVE ELECTRONIC

0014|     DATABASE CONTAINING AGENCY RULES AND OTHER STATE GOVERNMENT

0017|          WHEREAS, New Mexico does not have a single electronic
    |
0018|     repository containing rules and regulations, notices of
    |
0019|     rulemaking, executive orders and appointments, proclamations
    |
0020|     and other governmental policy determinations and information
    |
0021|     that New Mexico residents have access to in order to research
    |
0022|     issues of concern; and
    |
0023|          WHEREAS, it would benefit all citizens, businesses and
    |
0024|     regional and local governmental entities of the state if a
    |
0025|     single assessible and complete body of current governmental
    |

0001|     policy determinations and rulemaking activity existed and
    |
0002|     could be electronically accessed; 
    |
0003|        NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE
    |
0004|     OF NEW MEXICO that representatives from the state records center
    |
0005|     and archives and the state commission of public records be
    |
0006|     requested to conduct a study to determine the feasibility of
    |
0007|     creating such a repository, including cost, time frame and other
    |
0008|     related factors; and
    |
0009|      BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the state records center and
    |
0010|     archives and the state commission of public records complete
    |
0011|     and present the study to the appropriate interim legislative
    |
0012|     committee no later than October 1, 1998; and
    |
0013|      BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be
    |
0014|     sent to the administrator of the state records center and
    |
0015|     archives and to the members of the state commission of public
    |
0016|     records.
