0001| Dr. Seuss' birthday on March 2, sponsored by the national | 0002| education association, promoting reading and adult involvement | 0003| in the education of our state's students; | 0004| NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE | 0005| STATE OF NEW MEXICO that the citizens of New Mexico ensure | 0006| that every child is in a safe place reading with a caring | 0007| adult on the evening of March 2, 1998; and | 0008| BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the New Mexico legislature | 0009| declare March 2, 1998 as Read Across America day in New | 0010| Mexico; and | 0011| BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this body enthusiastically | 0012| endorse Read Across America and recommit itself to engaging in | 0013| programs and activities to make New Mexico's children the best | 0014| readers in the world. | 0015|  |
