0011|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATIONS FOR STATEWIDE DROPOUT PREVENTION

0012|     PROGRAMS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|          Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Seven hundred fifty thousand
    |
0016|     dollars ($750,000) is appropriated from the general fund to
    |
0017|     the state department of public education for expenditure in
    |
0018|     fiscal year 1999 for statewide dropout prevention programs. 
    |
0019|     Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
    |
0020|     fiscal year 1999 shall revert to the general fund.
    |
0021|          Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0022|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect
    |
0023|     immediately.
