AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR EDUCATION ACCESS ROOMS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thirty-five thousand eight hundred twenty-three dollars ($235,823) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of supporting the teach and learn network's collaboration with parent involvement programs, VISTA volunteers and the city of Albuquerque to create and maintain model electronic education access rooms at community centers in tribal and urban areas and to publish and distribute a blueprint on how to create, staff and maintain community-based education access rooms. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
