AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE OF THE DISTRICT ATTORNEYS FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONTRACTING FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A STATEWIDE SYSTEM TO PROVIDE A CRIME VICTIM WITH INFORMATION REGARDING THE CRIMINAL OFFENDER WHO PERPETRATED THE CRIME AGAINST THE VICTIM.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred twenty-nine thousand dollars ($229,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the administrative office of the district attorneys for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of contracting for the implementation of a statewide system to provide a crime victim with access to information regarding the criminal offender who perpetrated the crime against the victim. The system shall include information regarding custody status, court hearings, parole hearings and probation and parole events. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
