AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION PROGRAMS FOR AT-RISK TEENAGE PARENTS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seven hundred fifty thousand dollars ($750,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the vocational education division of the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of providing high school education programs for

at-risk teenage parents statewide. The appropriation shall be used to provide classes in basic parenting, nutrition, hygiene skills and child care for teenage parents. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
