MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR PROGRAM FUNDING FOR THE SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE PROGRAMS THROUGH THE COOPERATIVE EXTENSION SERVICE AND THE AGRICULTURAL EXPERIMENT STATION.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

A. Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of funding the economic survival program of the sustainable agricultural science center in Alcalde in Rio Arriba county in the following amounts through the following programs:

(1) two hundred two thousand four hundred dollars ($202,400) to the cooperative extension service; and

(2) ninety-seven thousand six hundred dollars ($97,600) to the agricultural experiment station.

B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
