AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE START-UP MONEY TO TRIBES, TRIBAL ORGANIZATIONS OR CONSORTIUMS OF TRIBES TO IMPLEMENT THE NATIVE AMERICAN COMPONENT OF THE CHILD HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAM.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of implementing the Native American provisions of the child health program in cooperation with the department of health. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
