AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO CONTINUE PROGRAMS THAT PREVENT SCHOOL VIOLENCE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of providing funds to school task force programs in Las Cruces that focus on preventing school violence. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
