AN ACT

RELATING TO THE PUBLIC REGULATION COMMISSION; CREATING DISTRICT OFFICES; MAKING AN APPROPRIATION.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. A new section of the Public Regulation Commission Act is enacted to read:

"[NEW MATERIAL] PUBLIC REGULATION COMMISSION--DISTRICT OFFICES--CREATED.--A district office for each public regulation commissioner shall be established."

Section 2. APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public regulation commission for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 to establish an office in each public regulation district. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
