AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT AND DEPLOYMENT BY THE WASTE-MANAGEMENT EDUCATION AND RESEARCH CONSORTIUM.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of establishing a new program of the waste-management education and research consortium to create a testing, verification and ranking system for the selection, application and deployment of new and innovative technologies for the reduction, remediation and prevention of environmental contaminants in soil and water. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
