AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO AID IN CONSTRUCTION OF HOUSING FOR NAVAJO NATION VETERANS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million six hundred thousand dollars ($1,600,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the New Mexico office of Indian affairs for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of matching funds provided by nonstate sources to construct housing for indigent veterans living in chapters of the Navajo nation. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
