AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE COMMISSION ON HIGHER EDUCATION FOR COMMUNITY-COLLEGE-BASED EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS PROVIDING HIGH SKILLS TRAINING.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million dollars ($1,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the commission on higher education for expenditure in fiscal year 2000 for the purpose of developing, expanding and supporting broad-based entry-level high skills training programs at community colleges statewide, including instructors, curriculum implementation, laboratory development, equipment operation and maintenance support. Each community college that receives funds for the program shall provide an equal amount of funding from a source other than the general fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.
