AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO SUPPORT SERVICES AT THE SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO REHABILITATION CENTER IN ROSWELL IN CHAVES COUNTY; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million dollars ($1,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund operating reserve to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal years 1999 and 2000 for the purpose of continuing staffing levels and services for persons needing physical rehabilitation at the southern New Mexico rehabilitation center in Roswell in Chaves county, contingent upon the lack of funding from other sources. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2000 shall revert to the general fund.

Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
