AN ACT

RELATING TO PUBLIC SCHOOLS; PROVIDING FOR PARITY IN ATHLETIC INCREMENT SCHEDULES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. A new section of the Public School Code is enacted to read:

"[NEW MATERIAL] ATHLETIC INCREMENT SCHEDULES--PARITY--Coaches in school districts that have an AAAA athletic program shall be compensated pursuant to the same athletic increment schedule for their coaching duties."

Section 2. EFFECTIVE DATE.--The effective date of the provisions of this act is July 1, 1999.
