REQUESTED BY

FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS AT ESPANOLA MUNICIPAL SCHOOLS IN RIO ARRIBA

COUNTY.

I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

• to the state department of public education

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to extend the gymnasium-cafeteria area of Mountain View elementary school in Rio Arriba county;

sixty-five thousand dollars ($65,000) to renovate the roofs of Alcalde elementary, Fairview elementary and Mountain View elementary schools in Rio Arriba county;

fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) to make major structural repairs to the library and older classrooms at Alcalde elementary school in Rio Arriba county;

sixty-five thousand dollars ($65,000) to purchase and install a portable building to be used for offices, meeting space and space for staff who work with children with special needs at Chimayo elementary school in Rio Arriba county;

fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) to make improvements to the Hernandez elementary school library and media center in Rio Arriba county;

two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) to replace thirty-year-old portable buildings with permanent classrooms at San Juan elementary school in Rio Arriba county;

fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for improvements to restrooms at Fairview elementary school in Rio Arriba county; and

five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) for the next phase of improvements to Espanola middle school in Rio Arriba county.
