REQUESTED BY

FOR CHANGING THE PURPOSE OF A SEVERANCE TAX BOND APPROPRIATION FOR A

MUNCIPAL BUILDING AND ROAD IMPROVEMENTS IN ELEPHANT BUTTE IN SIERRA

COUNTY.

The balance of the proceeds from severance tax bonds appropriated to the local government division

of the department of finance and administration to design, construct and equip an east mesa public health

facility in Las Cruces pursuant to Subsection VVV of Section 9 of Chapter 148 of Laws 1994 and

expanded to include the acquisition of property for the facility in Laws 1996, Chapter 14, Section 27,

shall not be expended for those purposes but is appropriated in the following amounts for the following

purposes:

• to the state highway and transportation department

fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) for improvements to the road from exit 89 off interstate 25 to Elephant Butte Lake state park in Sierra county; and

• to the local government division of the department of finance and administration

one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) to purchase and construct or renovate and equip a municipal building for Elephant Butte in Sierra county.
