SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Joint Resolution 14 would give the voters in New Mexico the opportunity to amend the anti-donation clause in the Constitution of New Mexico to allow the state to donate $10.0 for the "Women in the Military" memorial in Washington, DC.
Significant Issues
The memorial identifies each of the states who have contributed, the "Honor Roll of States". Only six states have not contributed, New Mexico being one of them. The number of women serving in the military is increasing. There are approximately 11,000 veterans in New Mexico.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
House Joint Resolution 14 identifies an amount of $10.0, which if enacted, the voters of New Mexico could approve.
ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS
The administrative impact would be minor.
