AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ENHANCE WATER QUALITY PROGRAMS OF THE AGRICULTURAL EXPERIMENT STATION AND THE COOPERATIVE EXTENSION SERVICE AT NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

A. Four hundred thirty-nine thousand dollars ($439,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2001 to enhance water quality capabilities of the college of agriculture and home economics. The appropriation shall be distributed in the following amounts to the following entities:

(1) one hundred thirty-eight thousand dollars ($138,000) to the agricultural experiment station; and

(2) three hundred one thousand dollars ($301,000) to the cooperative extension service.

B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2001 shall revert to the general fund.
